A very hungry caterpillar

Woohoo, I finally worked out foundation piecing and, once I did, this quilt top came together amazingly quickly.
I am really happy with how it turned out!Of course it won't actually get quilted until after the baby arrives, but I managed to get it sandwiched today - with flannel as backing - nice and cosy.

I saw my obstetrician today. Things are slowly starting to happen, so I might get that spontaneous labour after all...but, if not, we are booked in for an amniotomy (breaking the waters) next Thursday morning (21 Aug). Fingers crossed baby #2 makes his arrival before then!

That looks fantastic Lily! I can't believe you doubled over long enough to get a whole quilt sandwiched and basted! You are a star. And I hope baby makes his own way here so you don't have to wait that long, I had to have my waters broken EVERY time. I am sure I would still be pregnant with my first baby if modern medicine hadn't helped me along!

I sure hope that all goes well for you and the baby! I know when you are at the end how stressful it can be! I remember with my last one, I was trying everything in the world to put myslef in labor!! :) The doctor said to walk alot.......so I would walk and do jumping jacks! hehehe! I was so ready for the baby to be born! And in the end....my water broke while I was out shopping! I looked like I had peed my pants you should have saw me trying to get out of that shopping mall!!!!

I love the quilt! I really enjoy do paper piecing, I actually have 3 paper pieced quilts going right now! The flannel will make it so soft and cozy!

The quilt is wonderful - you are so clever! I've just got a book on foundation piecing, and it is a bit intimidating, but I will have to give it a go. Best wishes for labour starting soon - I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you!
